Every page of this found book of poems, entitled Poetical Meditations by Thomas Whiteman, is covered in ink drawings. Over the 90+ pages of the text, a language of marking is developed. Oval shapes denote words of importance while dots and dashes find connections between them. The remaining text is either partially or fully blackened. In some instances there is only black as a new alphabet imposes itself over the existing language. Other pages have markings that cover them like a fungus, rudely ignoring the text beneath or irreverently poking fun at the author.
